Terms of Service

Welcome to OnDeck! These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of the OnDeck mobile application and website (collectively, the "Service") operated by OnDeck ("we," "us," or "our").

By accessing or using our Service, you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you disagree with any part of the terms, you may not access the Service.

1. Description of Service

OnDeck is a sports roster management application that helps recreational athletes organize pickup games and matches. Our Service includes:

  • Group and roster management
  • Match scheduling and coordination
  • Automated player invitations via SMS and push notifications
  • RSVP tracking and waterfall invite automation
  • Calendar synchronization

2. Account Registration

To use certain features of the Service, you must register for an account. You agree to:

  • Provide accurate, current, and complete information
  • Maintain and promptly update your account information
  • Maintain the security of your account credentials
  • Accept responsibility for all activities under your account
  • Notify us immediately of any unauthorized use

3. SMS Fair Use Policy

Pro subscribers receive automated SMS invites to players in the United States and Canada as part of their subscription.

Fair Use Limit

Pro accounts include up to 750 SMS messages per calendar month for normal match coordination use. This generous limit easily covers 4+ weekly matches with full rosters.

What counts toward your SMS limit:

  • Initial match invitations sent to players
  • Waterfall invites when roster spots open
  • Match update notifications sent via SMS

What happens if you exceed the limit:

  • New invitations will be delivered via push notification instead of SMS
  • Players can still respond through the app or web link
  • Your SMS capacity resets on the 1st of each calendar month
  • No additional charges will be incurred

This fair use policy protects against abuse while ensuring legitimate captains have ample capacity for their games. Most active captains use fewer than 200 SMS messages per month.

International SMS

SMS messaging is currently available to phone numbers in the United States and Canada only. International SMS is not supported at this time.

4. Subscription and Payments

Free Tier (Rookie)

The free tier includes basic features with limitations on groups (1 group) and players per group (20 players). Automated SMS is not included in the free tier.

Paid Subscription (Pro / Playmaker)

Pro subscriptions are billed monthly or annually through our payment processor, Stripe. By subscribing, you authorize us to charge your payment method on a recurring basis until you cancel.

Cancellation

You may cancel your subscription at any time through your account settings. Upon cancellation:

  • You will retain access to Pro features until the end of your current billing period
  • Your account will revert to the free tier after the billing period ends
  • No refunds are provided for partial billing periods

Price Changes

We reserve the right to modify subscription pricing. Existing subscribers will be notified at least 30 days before any price increase takes effect. Founding Member pricing is locked in for the lifetime of continuous subscription.

5. User Conduct

You agree not to use the Service to:

  • Send spam, unsolicited messages, or promotional content
  • Harass, abuse, or harm other users
  • Impersonate any person or entity
  • Violate any applicable laws or regulations
  • Interfere with or disrupt the Service
  • Attempt to gain unauthorized access to any systems
  • Use the SMS feature for purposes unrelated to match coordination

6. Player Consent and SMS Communications

When you add players to your roster and send them SMS invitations:

  • You represent that you have a legitimate relationship with those players
  • Players can opt out of SMS communications at any time by replying STOP
  • We comply with applicable telecommunications regulations including TCPA

7. Intellectual Property

The Service and its original content, features, and functionality are owned by OnDeck and are protected by international copyright, trademark, and other intellectual property laws.

8. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, OnDeck shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, including but not limited to:

  • Loss of profits, data, or goodwill
  • Service interruption or inability to use the Service
  • Failed or delayed message delivery
  • Any conduct or content of third parties on the Service

9. Disclaimer of Warranties

The Service is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, either express or implied. We do not guarantee that:

  • The Service will be uninterrupted or error-free
  • SMS messages will be delivered successfully to all recipients
  • The Service will meet your specific requirements

10. Termination

We may terminate or suspend your account immediately, without prior notice or liability, for any reason, including breach of these Terms. Upon termination, your right to use the Service will cease immediately.

11. Changes to Terms

We reserve the right to modify these Terms at any time. We will provide notice of significant changes by posting the new Terms on this page and updating the "Effective Date." Your continued use of the Service after changes constitutes acceptance of the new Terms.

12. Governing Law

These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the United States, without regard to conflict of law provisions.
